Positive: Lovely homely feel. good sized rooms. great views and balcony. we really enjoyed our stay.
Negative: i would have appreciated a kettle and toaster. the top bunk didn’t have any sides to it and my son didn’t want to sleep up there as he felt unsafe (he has fallen out of bed in the past). He tried to sleep on the floor under the bed and came out covered in old hair and dust- I think the floors do need a good hoover under the beds/wardrobes every now and then.
Summary: it was really great- if the above things were sorted it would have been excellent.

Positive: Wonderful apartment for a family with two kids. View on both sides of the valley, nice little terrace to sit on. Nice kitchen with everything you need.

Positive: Friendly host who was flexible with early check in and late check-out. Free parking close to the house.
Negative: There's a double bed which is good quality. However, the bunkbed is very bad quality. Matresses are thin, and the slatted base is weak. This combination makes for a bad sleeping experience. There's a sleeping couch in the living room as well, but the same holds for this option. Apart from that, the shower seems to be temporarily fixed, but is now only spraying water from a loose showerhead. This means you'll need to hold it yourself to have a shower.
Summary: Nice host but poor quality.

Positive: Having the basics on arrival makes a big difference. Welcome pack a great touch.
Negative: Couch not the most comfy, and master bedroom could do with more clothes storage instead of the large table. Sea view a bit limited by Madeira standards. Driveway access very difficult, scratched rental car.
